The midfielder joined the club in May 2021 and has been a cornerstone of Wanderers’ recent success. During his three years at the club he has emerged as a fan-favourite with his huge technical and creative ability, alongside his reliable presence and work rate in midfield.

Taylor has made 111 appearances for Dorking, with an impressive catalogue of goals which include some important strikes in the clubs 21/22 promotion season. This season has seen Josh emerge as one of the clubs most productive players in the final third, his four goals and five assists to-date have complimented the all-action midfield performances the fans have become accustomed to from their number 17.

Josh reflected on the news by stating: “I’m really happy to have signed a new deal with this incredible football club. I’ve absolutely loved my time here since day one and to commit to another three years was a no brainer for me.”

Josh has been at the heart of some of the clubs most memorable moments in the National League, scoring in the clubs first ever televised fixture on TNT Sports at Oldham Athletic in August 2022. He later went on to net the first televised goal at Meadowbank against Barnet in October last year. Keeping on trend, Josh would play a key part in the amazing comeback at AFC Fylde in November, making it three goals from four televised games.

“The club is full of great people both on and off the pitch, all very ambitious to continue this amazing journey the club has been on and bring even more success in the future”, stated the midfielder.

“I personally am fully confident we’ll finish this season strongly and the next couple of years can be very exciting for us.”

Wanderers manager Marc White is equally delighted to secure Josh’s services for another 3 seasons. He said: “We’re delighted Josh has chosen to commit his long-term future with the club. Josh has been an ever-present key player since his arrival and is among the very best midfielders in the National League. Josh is very much part of the Wanderers family, alongside his Dad.”

“I also think it’s important for the fans to recognise that our intention is, at all times, to move the club forwards, on and off the field. It always has been, and it always will be, and Josh is a key part of our plans to do just that.”

As a regular in White’s midfield, Josh has built a strong bond with the Wanderers fans: “I’m buzzing to get the deal done and to play at least the next three years in front of our fans who I genuinely think are the best in the league with how positive they are, and the level of support they’ve shown this season even on a few tough days. All eyes are on Saturday now and getting back to winning ways”.
