Dorking Wanderers have today confirmed that they have added Nick Regan to their Senior Committee as Director of International Football Development.

Surrey native Nick is based in Virginia, and is currently the Head Coach at VMI, a college football (soccer) program that competes at the highest level of the American college pyramid, NCAA DI. Earlier this year, VMI and Dorking Wanderers announced a groundbreaking partnership. Prior to his coaching career, Nick had a successful career in the high-tech start-up world overseeing the scaling of businesses and delivering multi-million pound projects in Silicon Valley and around the globe.

Nick joins the club with immediate effect and will begin by building a scouting network of young British talent plying their trade abroad. In addition to creating pathways for DWFC Academy players to gain experience in the United States.

Regan said: “Having first visited the original Meadowbank 20 years ago to watch my brother play for Dorking FC, I am incredibly excited to be joining the board of Dorking Wanderers. I want to thank Marc and Kris for the opportunity to make an impact in this role.

Regan added: “I also want to thank Kyle Shestack for his support. I am excited to collaborate with Kyle on building the Dorking Wanderers footprint abroad.”

On the opportunity to build an international scouting network, Regan added: “We are seeing an increase in players being released from academies both in the Premier League and Football League coming over to the US to gain experience before heading back to the UK in search of first team football. I will be working to ensure that Dorking Wanderers is the first port of call for the most talented players seeking to return to the UK.”

Executive Director Kris Lea commented: “As a club we are very excited to add Nick to our non-executive board. The impact he has made at VMI, both on and off the pitch, has been nothing short of incredible, and we have no doubt that he will make a similar impact at Dorking Wanderers as we look to grow our transatlantic pathway”.
