For the second consecutive season, the Dorking Wanderers B team will be formed purely by academy players, and the revised squad for 24/25 will play 5 pre-season fixtures through the month of July before the Southern Combination Division One season is expected to get under way on Saturday August 3rd.
Confirmed Pre-Season Schedule:
Saturday July 6th
Flackwell Heath (H) – 2pm
For their pre-season opener, Wanderers B will host newly promoted side Flackwell Heath at Meadowbank. Winners of the Combined Counties Premier North Division last season, the Buckinghamshire side will compete at Step 4 level next season in the Southern League Central Division One.
Saturday July 13th
Aldershot Town U21’s (H) – 2pm
A club familiar to both the Wanderers senior and academy sides over recent seasons, Aldershot Town will bring an U21’s side to Meadowbank for the second test of pre-season.
Tuesday July 16th
FC Romania (H) – 19:45pm
Based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, FC Romania will be the opposition for Wanderers only midweek pre-season fixture and final home game ahead of the 24/25 campaign getting under way. Competing in the Spartan South Midlands Football League (Step 5), FC Romania finished inside the play-off’s last term in 5th place, going on to defeat Milton Keynes Irish 0-3 at the semi-final stage before being defeated by Leverstock Green by the same scoreline in the final.
Saturday July 20th
Balham FC (A) – 3pm
Combined Counties Premier South side Balham will be the first away fixture for Wanderers in pre-season, and the South London side will be playing in new surroundings for the 24/25 campaign as they ground-share with Tooting & Mitcham at Imperial Fields. Ebrahim Seedat’s side will no doubt be looking to continue making progress next season after securing a top half finish last term.
Saturday July 27th
Hollington United Community (A) – 2pm
The final game of pre-season will see Wanderers head down to Hastings to face Hollington United Community. A club on the up after a 4th placed finish in the East Sussex Premier Football League (Step 8) last season and going on to achieve a cup double after winning both the ESFL and Macron Sports Hub Challenge trophy’s, Wanderers look forward to the final test of pre-season before competitive action is expected to begin the following weekend.
