The Tanners, who compete in The Isthmian South Central Division finished 3rd last season and made it to the play-off final, unfortunately losing 3-1 to Marlow.

Ian Selley is in place to take charge of Leatherhead for the upcoming campaign, following Hayden Bird’s dismissal following the clubs play-off final defeat. They have recently lost Trevan Robinson to Tonbridge Angels, who will be competing in the National League South with us next season.

We beat The Tanners 5-4 last year, winning the Dorking & Leatherhead Advertiser Trophy in a thrilling game at Meadowbank.

Marc and the boys go into the match following a 0-2 win in their first pre-season fixture last weekend, a Jason Prior header and Jimmy Muitt overhead kick securing the win over Poole Town.

A Tanners Perspective

“I’m feeling overall generally positive ahead of the new campaign, but I think but it will be tricky. There are a few new clubs in our division who will be throwing their weight around making the top end of our division look stronger than it was last season but a new manager and some new ideas should freshen things up a bit for us. Last season was enjoyable and we had a great side but came up a little short against the top teams. It was tough to take being the third best side when only two go up. The areas of the game where we lacked will hopefully be addressed by the new management judging by how they schooled us away at Westfield last season. They did excellently with the resources they had.”

“Feels like we’re spoiled for riches at the back between the players we’ve retained and the new signings.”

“At the time the time of writing I’m looking forward to seeing both new striker Alex MacAllister (who doesn’t wasn’t to see goals right?) and new midfielder Alfie Huckle. Leatherhead fans will always warm to a player described as having energy and putting themselves about. Players that clearly put a shift in will always get the Tanners support behind them.”
