Match Report by Conor Bennett
Going into the fixture both sides had managed to pick up ten points from the opening five fixtures, and the opening exchanges were just as even. Both sides had spells of dominance, but it was Wanderers who pounced first. Matt Briggs capitalised on a mistake from Eastbourne stopper Holter, robbing him of the ball and slotting home into an open net.
Wanderers held on to their one goal lead into the break partly thanks to a brilliant save from Harrison Foulkes, who, on his return to the Reach TV Stadium, tipped Davis’ audacious half volley over the bar.
Borough did bring themselves level just seven minutes after the restart, Jayden Davis broke through the Wanderers defence and slotted cooly into the bottom left via the post.
With the home side back level, Wanderers went in search for a winner, and when a goal mouth scramble in the 71st minute concluded with Seb Bowerman wheeling away in celebration it looked like they had one.
However, when twelve additional minutes of added time were indicated and Brennan Camp left the field with a dislocated shoulder, Wanderers were left under pressure and disjointed.
Eight minutes into stoppage time Eastbourne levelled, a header from Will Harley looped into the top corner. Cue heartbreak for Wanderers and scenes of ecstasy for the home side who had snatched a point at the death.
An end-to-end game with dominant spells from both sides ended with a point apiece. Wanderers look ahead to Monday when another away trip beckons, this time to Aveley, they themselves earned a point away in Torquay this weekend.
