Redhill-born Rob, started his footballing journey rising through the youth ranks at Fulham FC, going on to play for and captain the reserves, and feature for the first team,  making an appearance as a substitute in a league fixture away to Manchester United in February 2009.

Following loan spells at the likes of Brentford and Southend United, Rob departed Fulham and made a permanent move north of the border to Aberdeen, making over half a century of appearances in the Scottish Premier League side before joining Rotherham United in 2013. Part of The Millers squad which successfully won the 2013-14 League One Play-Off final, after a season with the South Yorkshire club in the Championship Rob would go on to play for Notts County and Crawley Town in the EFL before making the switch to Sutton United in 2019.

The South London club would be the destination where Rob would spend the longest period of his career to date, making over 150 appearances during the most successful era in the club’s history. Winning promotion to the Football League for the very first time after winning the 2020-21 National League, the following year The U’s would go on to finish runner’s up in the EFL Trophy final at Wembley and also narrowly missing out on a play-off spot in the League Two standings.

After leaving Sutton during the summer, Rob is now looking to continue his career with a fresh challenge, and is looking forward to getting started with Wanderers:

“I’m delighted to be joining Dorking Wanderers, a club I’ve been watching closely in recent years and I’ve been really impressed with the progression and ambition of the club driven by Marc. I hope I can play a part in helping the team to achieve success this season.”

Manager Marc White adds the following:

“We are delighted to welcome Rob into the club – Rob has an extensive professional Football League background, most recently with Sutton United, appearing at Wembley and being part of their National League title-winning side. A fantastic left-sided defender, Rob is a local lad who actually approached us to get involved with training, a few of our supporters may have spotted him in the recent training videos online! In light of our current head-count, Rob is a much needed addition who will bring plenty of experience and we are really pleased he is with us for this season.”
