We started brightly, with Jimmy Muitt cutting in from the left and firing a shot that was blocked. The rebound fell to Rutherford, whose effort was palmed away by the keeper, landing at the feet of Morgan Williams. Williams tried his luck from range but couldn’t trouble Lavercombe in the Truro goal.

Our next opportunity came when Tony Craig lofted a sublime ball in behind the defense. Matt Briggs brought it down brilliantly but dragged his shot narrowly wide of the right-hand post.

Truro then had their first real chance, as a high ball skipped over our midfield and into a tussle between Tony Craig and the onrushing attacker. The Truro forward got to it first, attempting to chip Foulkes, who was caught between the goal and the action. Fortunately for us, the effort was overhit and sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.

The remainder of the half went by without either side making any major chances, sending us to half time level.

Now attacking away from The Bank, Jimmy Muitt opened our second-half with intent. Picking up the ball on the edge of our box, he embarked on a brilliant solo run, beating his marker twice before being stopped just outside Truro’s area.

Jimmy was in the thick of the action again moments later. After a driving run from Briggs, who cut inside from right to left, the ball was laid off to Muitt. He skipped inside skilfully and unleashed a curling effort from the edge of the area, forcing a diving save from Truro’s keeper, who stretched to his left to keep it out.

Our next chance came from a corner. Dan Gallagher fought valiantly for possession in the box, with the ball eventually falling to captain Charlie Carter. His shot from the penalty spot took a deflection and went out for a throw-in.

Shortly afterward, manager Marc White made his first substitution of the game, bringing on Josh Brooking—returning from suspension—in place of Brennan Camp.

Brooking wasted no time making an impact. Driving down the right, he laid the ball off to Briggs, who spun past two defenders with ease, advanced into the box, and squared it to Muitt. However, Muitt’s shot was deflected high into the air, allowing Truro’s keeper to gather comfortably.

Truro responded with the best chance of the match; a cross to the far post found Tyler Harvey, who headed down powerfully, only to be denied by a stunning reaction save from Harrison Foulkes.

The second and third substitutions of the afternoon saw Alfie Rutherford and Jimmy Muitt make way for Theo Alexandrou and Jordan Norville-Williams.

In the dying moments of added time, Truro piled on the pressure with a flurry of corners, but they failed to create any meaningful chances, leaving the scoreline intact.

Todays result concluded a four-point week, with a 7-1 win and a draw against top of the league. Make sure to join us at Meadowbank on Tuesday the 10th of the December as we take on Lingfield in the Surrey Senior Cup.
