Magnus, born in Kingston-upon-Thames, began his football journey rising through the youth ranks with boyhood club Fulham FC, joining the club at the age of 9 and going on to sign a professional deal with The Cottagers at the beginning of the 2014/15 season.
Building his senior development with loan moves to the likes of Farnborough, Southport and Rochdale across a number of seasons, Magnus would also represent England at U18 level during this period before departing Fulham in August 2020, making the permanent move to League Two club Carlisle United.
Following a couple of years at Brunton Park, Magnus then made the switch to Oldham Athletic, joining the Latics at the beginning of their time in the National League under the new ownership of Frank Rothwell, making his home debut against Wanderers in the memorable encounter live on BT Sport in August 2022.
Featuring on loan in the National League with Ebbsfleet United during this current 24/25 campaign, after leaving parent club Oldham, Magnus, 27, is looking forward to a positive second half of the season and being back playing his football nearer to where his career began:
“I’m delighted to sign for Dorking Wanderers and be back home. It’s exciting to represent a local club and be part of something special here. I’m looking forward to giving my all for the team and helping us achieve great things. After speaking with Charlie, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this club and the incredible support it has from its fans.”
Manager Marc White adds the following:
“We felt like it was really important to add competition to the goalkeeper area – given the high competition elsewhere around the squad we felt it was key to ensure this was equal all over. Magnus is someone we have spoken to previously, a couple of years ago a potential move to join us ultimately didn’t materialise. Magnus arrives with a high pedigree having played for various clubs, including within the Football League, and we are delighted he is part of our squad for the rest of the season.”
