A young and energetic Walton started the brighter of the two sides and when Rogalski pounced on a defensive error in the ninth minute he made no mistake after he found himself one-on-one with Foulkes. The number nine finding the bottom right with ease to give his team a deserved lead.
Wanderers reacted quickly, Rutherford forcing a smart stop from Barker as his effort looked destined to ripple the top right corner.
Despite their response ‘Wanderers found themselves two behind within 17 minutes as Rogalski’s quick thinking to pivot and strike earned him his second of the game to double ’Swans’ advantage.
Wanderers could have drawn level before the break as Rutherford and Taylor both saw their respective efforts strike off the woodwork as the interval loomed.
Half-Time 0-2
The second half was not three minutes old when Wimbledon loanee Kai Jennings tangoed through the Dorking defence before delicately lifting the ball over Foulkes and in to extend his sides’ advantage to three.
Foulkes was called into action again swiftly after as he pulled a save from the top drawer to deny Rogalski his cup final hat-trick.
Wanderers turned to the bench for fresh legs two minutes before the hour mark. Bobby-Joe Taylor replaced McManus to face the side he spent a successful loan spell towards the end of the season.
Murphy believed he had pulled one back for the Wanderers on 68 minutes, but a combination of defender and goalkeeper kept his effort from fully crossing the line.
A dejected Wanderers turned to the bench to inject youth into the side, academy first year prospect Josh Hebert and commanding centre half Jay Richardson replacing JNW and Briggs.
Hebert almost made an instant impact as he delivered a pinpoint cross to the head of Murphy who couldn’t convert.
With a minute to play Rutherford did what Murphy failed to do and nodded home. A mere consolation for Wanderers in a frustrating evening of football.
