We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced physical therapist to lead our performance department. The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing and delivering all aspects of medical care, including health monitoring, injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation within the first-team environment.

You’ll be expected to uphold high professional standards across both the Medical and Sports Science departments, and be fully flexible to provide medical support on all training days as well as at home and away fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the medical department’s operations and protocols.
  • Organise and coordinate player medical consultations, scans, and referrals.
  • Provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for injured players.
  • Lead and supervise rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure optimal player health and fitness.
  • Provide pitch-side cover on matchdays or training (as agreed).

Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Physiotherapist (or equivalent professional accreditation).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-grad experience, ideally in a football or elite sport setting.
  • Proven clinical skills in injury assessment, rehabilitation, and prevention.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible with availability for training sessions and matchdays.

Desirable:

  • Experience with EMR systems (e.g. Kitman Labs, Smartabase).
  • Relevant postgraduate certifications (e.g. sports rehab, dry needling, manual therapy).
  • FA Level 5 ATMMiF (or willingness to complete).
