It was a successful start to pre-season for the Wanderers, winning 7-0 away at Bourne Town.
22 players featured in our new white alternate kit, including new signings and academy graduates:
1st Half: Foulkes, Norville-Williams, Muitt, Rutherford, McShane, Carter, Taylor, Gallagher, Vincent, Francomb, Annesley
2nd Half: Foulkes (GK) (Sullivan), Camp, Craig (C), Gale, McManus, Taylor (Trialist), McShane (Hebert), Lewis, Vincent (Tauta-Caballero), Moore, Saunders
We went into half time with a five-goal lead thanks to a brace from new signing Frank Vincent, which included a wonder goal, an instinctive finish from James McShane, a rocket from range by Josh Taylor, and a trademark Alfie Rutherford goal – beating the offside trap and slotting home.
The second half saw the involvement of academy stars relatively new to the first team, who contributed well to extend our lead by two more goals. Josh Hebert got amongst it in the box to hit home our sixth, before setting up a trialist for our final goal of the afternoon.
Some great football was on display today, and we look to continue this at Meadowbank in our next pre-season friendly against Leatherhead in the Advertiser Trophy on Tuesday 15th July. We look forward to welcoming Wanderers fans home for our first match of the 2025/26 season!
