Dorking Wanderers are today delighted to announce that they have further strengthened their club board, with long term associate and friend of the club Marc Whittingham joining them as a shareholder.
Marc is a lifelong close friend of club founder, chairman and manager Marc White, and has a long standing association with the club, including playing for Wanderers in the early years following their establishment in 1999, and then a successful stint as a manager in the youth section, which included winning both the league and cup whilst in charge of the Under 14’s.
Marc is also a well-established local business owner, and his firm, Dorking Window Company, have sponsored the club for several years, and are the current sponsor of the Family Stand at Meadowbank Stadium. Furthermore, Marc and his family are very keen Wanderers supporters, and attend a majority of home and away first team fixtures.
Marc White is delighted that his friend has joined the board:
“This is amazing news for me personally. Marc (Whittingham) is my closest friend and his family have been my surrogate family throughout my lifetime. Marc is extremely successful in everything he does and operates with the upmost integrity. He will add massive value to the club moving forward and I am delighted to have him officially alongside me on the board of the club”.
Marc Whittingham adds:
“What Marc (White), the board, committee, staff and volunteers have done with this club is incredible, a true fairytale story. It is the biggest success story in modern British football history, which is widely known not just nationally but internationally as well. As a close friend of Marc, a local businessman and lifelong resident of Dorking, I can see that the club delivers so much value to the local community, and I am delighted to officially be on board and be a part of this exciting journey. The next chapter is just around the corner”.
