Biography

Club captain Charlie Carter has been with the Wanderers for just over two years, but in that time period he has already established himself as a cult hero.

His footballing journey began at Fulham and then across the county at Woking, where after coming through the club’s academy he signed a professional deal with The Cardinals ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Carter also spent time in the Football League after three seasons at Stevenage, and has also impressed in the National League with Eastleigh before returning to his native Surrey and signing for Wanderers in October 2023.

Charlie was named club captain ahead of the 2024/25 season, and is known for his incredible leadership on the pitch, alongside an incredible highlight reel of goals, which includes the fastest ever hat-trick to be scored in National League South history.  Charlie also has several awards to his name, winning Managers’ Player of the Season & the Bunch of Amateurs Player of the Season the same year he was named captain.
