Wanderers run of league games without a point extended to five matches on Saturday afternoon after travelling to Kent to face play-off chasing Bromley. Goals from Omar Sowunmi and Charley Kendall in each half of the game secured a comfortable 2-0 win for Andy Woodman’s side, Wanderers remaining a point and place above the relegation zone as they were before the game.
With two more away days to come in February following Tuesday night’s match, away to Wrexham and then Boreham Wood, Wanderers will be all too aware of the significance to get back to wining ways against one of the sides just behind them in the league table at present.

Marc White has confirmed that Barry Fuller and Joe Cook will remain sidelined for Tuesday night’s game as they recover from knocks, Niall McManus (leg injury) and Nicky Wheeler (knee) will also both miss out. Opposition Focus: The Gulls
Torquay will arrive at Meadowbank on Tuesday sat in the relegation places, but an improved run of recent form has seen The Gulls close up the points gaps to the sides around them towards the bottom end of the table. Gary Johnson’s team are currently level with fellow stragglers Gateshead who are a place above on goal difference, both sides just a point behind Wanderers who are sat just outside the drop zone. A 1-2 loss to leaders Notts County is the only defeat suffered by Torquay in the last five league games; 1-0 home wins over Halifax Town and Maidstone United and a 1-1 draw away at high-flying Woking proceeding a 2-1 defeat over Barnet at Plainmoor this past Saturday afternoon. Aaron Jarvis and Tope Fadahunsi netted the goals as The Gulls avenged the defeat inflicted by The Bees by the same scoreline in the FA Trophy 5th round the previous weekend. Jarvis’ opening goal over the weekend was his 8th of the campaign so far, one ahead of Will Goodwin, who just recently departed to League One side Cheltenham Town. The club have used the loan market to bolster their options at both ends of the pitch, seeking to replace the loss of Goodwin with James Crole from Cardiff City, Tope Fadahunsi from Sutton United and most recently Welsh U21 striker Lewis Collins from Newport County. At the back, Gary Johnson has strengthened his defense with the permanent signing of Jacob Mensah from Maidstone United, in addition to Nico Lawrence arriving on loan from Southampton. A further boost in attack has been winger Dillon De Silva, who scored twice and impressed against Wanderers in the reverse fixture back in November, signing a loan extension from QPR until the end of February.

Back in November the two sides contested an entertaining 3-3 draw on a cold Tuesday night at Plainmoor. Dillon De Dilva gave the hosts an early lead, but Nicky Wheeler’s wonder-strike from distance got Wanderers back on terms with virtually the last action of the first half. Two goals in the space of a minute from James McShane and Jimmy Muitt shortly after half-time put Wanderers ahead, but another strike from De Silva and looping header from defender Mark Ellis with ten minutes left rescued a point for the home side.

Ladies Progress To The Capital Cup Semi’s
After suffering a narrow defeat to Fulham in the League Cup quarter finals the previous weekend, the Wanderers Ladies did advance from the last 8 of the Capital Cup on Sunday afternoon, defeating Richmond & Kew 0-2 at Ham Playing Fields. The striker’s combined for the opening goal ten minutes before half-time, Gemma Shepherd assisting Cherelle Khassal, before an own goal not long after the restart doubled the advantage and ultimately proved enough for the Ladies to book their place in the semi-finals. An away trip to London Seaward Reserves scheduled for mid-March now awaits in the next round, the Ladies one game away from the final of the competition they won last season.
This Sunday league action returns to Meadowbank as Dulwich Hamlet Reserves are the visitors in a 15:30pm kick off.
5 Games Unbeaten For B Team In 2023
The Wanderers B team made it 4 wins from 5 league matches for his calendar year on Saturday afternoon after emphatically defeating Montpellier Villa 5-1 at Meadowbank. Behind by a goal at the interval, 4 goals in the space of 8 minutes just past the hour mark propelled Wanderers into a commanding lead; Tyrese Ayeni, Dan Berry, Ben Aubrey and Tyrese Johnson grabbing the goals, Academy midfielder Seb Tauta-Caballero then added the 5th in stoppage time. The game was unfortunately overshadowed by a bad ankle injury to Academy defender Hayden Gale just before half-time – we wish Hayden all the best with his recovery. Wanderers currently sit 2nd in the league table, local sides Epsom & Ewell and Godalming Town hot on their heels.
After defeating Godalming (0-1) and Horsham YMCA (1-3) in the first two rounds, the Wanderers B team take on Loxwood in the quarter-final’s of the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup on Tuesday evening, a 19:45pm kick off at the Loxwood Sports Ground.
DWFC Vets Make It 3 Straight Wins
After defeating Roffey and South Park in their first two games of the season, the DWFC Vets extended their winning run with a 2-4 defeat of Broadbridge Heath on Sunday. Pritchard, Stotty (2) and JT bagged the goals, setting up an early season top of the table clash between DWFC and West Chiltington next Sunday.
